DIAZ 2MISSING IN SNOHOMISH COUNTY —
It’s been two weeks since a Lynnwood man simply vanished.

Tonight detectives are asking for help finding 20 year old Jose Diaz.

“What really concerns detectives about this missing person’s case is that pretty much after August 28th we have no activity from him at all. Nothing on social media. He didn’t come back to work. He hasn’t been in contact with this girlfriend, so we’re looking for any help we can get,” says Shari Ireton with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. “It’s very unlike him. He doesn’t have a criminal history. He’s very connected with friends and family. He shows up to work on time, so for him to fall off the face of the earth it’s very concerning and very unusual.”

Diaz’ car is also missing – the red 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse with Washington plates AUH2654.

His family’s desperate to find him.

bellevue missingBELLEVUE — Authorities are asking for the public’s help after two boys were allegedly abducted by their mother who does not have custody.

Sage and Isaac Cook’s father put the boys on a plane to Los Angeles after receiving what he thought was a court order for a supervised visit. Authorities believe the boys’ mother Faye Ku forged the order.

The boys, ages 14 and 9, were last seen at LAX Airport on August 28.

When officers searched Ku’s apartment in Lakewood, California, they discovered it had been abandoned.

Investigators say back in 2013, the boys’ mother was stopped at Sea-Tac Airport as she tried to board a plane to Taiwan with the children.

“It is very likely they’re still in the country,” says Bellevue Police Maj. Pat Spak. “We do not have any specific information that they are out of the country, however mom does have family and relatives in Taiwan and also in Mexico and also in Houston, Texas and possibly the San Francisco and Los Angeles areas.”

Sage is 5′ 6″, 109 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. His younger brother Isaac is 4′ 6″, 64 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Faye Ku is 41-years-old, 5′ 3″, 185 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

The boys’ family is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to their safe return. If you can help, call Bellevue Police or 911.

The family set up a Facebook page with more information here.

Missing Mystery: Tacoma detectives still searching for teen who vanished on way to mall in 1979

TACOMA — It was almost four decades ago that a teenage girl went missing in Tacoma after heading to the mall.

Detectives continue to search for answers in her disappearance and they’re hoping you can help find her.

“The fact that she was 13 and literally just disappeared off the face of the earth is unusual,” says Tacoma Police  Det. Lindsey Wade. She’s talking about Angela Meeker, who vanished two days before her 14th birthday on July 7, 1979. Wade says, “She was headed to the Tacoma Mall to purchase a birthday card for a friend and that was the last time she was seen by any of her family members.” But, a friend says he saw her on the road. “An acquaintance of hers was interviewed and he actually reported that he ran into Angie on her way to the mall and gave her a ride and said that he dropped her off in the area of the Payless store.”

No one ever heard from her again.

“There was a party scheduled for later in the evening, a birthday party for Angela and another friend and Angela didn’t show up to the party and none of the party-goers reported seeing her at the party or any time after that,” detective Wade explains.

And because Angela was known to run away and stay gone for a couple of days at a time she wasn’t reported missing until three days later.

But police don’t believe that Angela just took off. Wade says, “We had another case that occurred about six months later, not too far from here and it was another 13 year old girl who went missing and was found murdered 12 days later and that case is also unsolved.”

Police have persons of interest, but have been unable to link them to any crime. They also haven’t been able to claim any remains discovered in the area. “We have her dental records, we have DNA and we have had no matches,” Wade adds.

For Angela’s family, that signals hope that she could still be alive. “I know the family always wants to hold out hope that their loved one is still out there. It’s been 36 years since she went missing and she was just a young girl. It’s hard to imagine a scenario where would she be and what would she be doing all this time, but you just never know,” Wade says.

She has taken over this missing person's mystery and has a special request for those who knew this teenage girl, saying “If there are people who knew Angie that might have any information about what was going on in her life at the time, relationships she was in, if they have any information or even speculation about what happened to her, I’d be interested in hearing about it.”

meeker 2Angela would be 50 years old now and the age progression photo shows what she could look like today.

She was 5'1" and 100 pounds at the time of her disappearance with hazel eyes and blonde hair.

If you know anything that can help detectives find out what happened to her, call an anonymous tip into:

STONE FENNELLSEATTLE — The father of missing 16-year-old Stone Fennell said Tuesday afternoon that his son has been found.

Larry Fennell said his son was found at the downtown library and that he was taken to Seattle Children’s Hospital to be checked out.

He was last seen around 10:30 p.m. at his home in Crown Hill on February 12, 2016.

“He went to go blow off some steam, maybe, and that’s what I thought, you know, and then time’s flying and I start worrying and then I start looking and I’ve been looking ever since. We love him very much. He’s a good boy and we just want him home and in our arms again,” said his dad Larry Fennell.

Nick Cummings missing: Family, detectives hope you can help find West Seattle man more than decade after disappearance

MISSING IN SEATTLE — It’s been 14 years since Nick Cummings simply vanished from West Seattle.

I traced his last known location in hopes that you can help detectives find him.

“Nick was a really funny person,” says his sister, Emily. “He lived life to the fullest. He traveled a lot. He had a really close group of friends growing up. He really had a good sense of humor, kind of a corny sense of humor. Very sarcastic, just made everyone laugh’

Nick was the youngest of three and the only boy, but on May 14th, 2002 — he went missing.

“He told his girlfriend, Jana Freda, he`d be back in about 15 minutes,” says Seattle Police Det. Michael Ciesynski. “He left and never returned.”

Nick was reported missing the next day and that`s when police found his 1994 Bronco. “We recovered his vehicle at Me-Kwa Mooks Park which is on Beach drive in West Seattle.” It just a few miles from his home but didn`t give police with much to go on. “There was nothing to indicate there was any foul play in the vehicle. I believe It was probably a good meeting place to meet someone for a transaction or just a meeting.’ One that may have turned deadly.” Mr. Cummings was a known marijuana dealer of, more of a pound dealer, large scale, nothing very small.”

Police checked his cell phone and pager, but came up without leads or answers.

His family has been left to wonder what happened all those years ago. His sister says, “I think that piece of not knowing is you think of every possible thing that could have happened to the person which is a really tough process.”

Det. Ciesynski took over the investigation three years ago.

He wants to talk to anyone who may have known Nick at the time of his disappearance. “People who supplied Nick with marijuana and also some of his customers hopefully that would lead me somewhere else down the line here and I can solve this case.'

And his family is asking for your help as well. “He was taken from us very early,” says his sister. “We don`t know in what circumstance, how, but we need to know and are really wanting the public, someone to come forward with the information to give some further answers.”

If you know anything about where Nick Cummings might be, or had any contact with him before he vanished, call an anonymous tip into:

Mason County detectives re-investigating 1998 case of missing Belfair mother, Deborah Simmons

$

MASON COUNTY — It’s been 18 years since a mother vanished from her home in Belfair.

Mason county detectives are now re-investigating Deborah Simmons’ disappearance and her family is hoping to finally get the answers they deserve.

“She was the life of the party, she was always fun and feisty. One thing I always loved about her is that she can always make anyone feel better,” Ginny Ray recalls about her mother.

She is the only daughter of Deborah Simmons. She continues, “My daughter was born and she would always want to see her and dance with her and loved music so she always had the radio on dancing around.”

But on April 30th, 1998, Ginny failed to reach her 43 year old mom by phone and went to her house to check on her. “When I got there,” Ray says, “I could tell that something wasn’t right. Her clothes were piled in the driveway, it appeared she had gotten in a fight and some of the furniture was knocked over in the house.”

Ginny called the Mason County Sheriff’s Office.

Detective Jeff Rhoades has inherited the case and says, “A deputy responded to the scene, found the house to be unsecured. The door was open. There were signs of a possible struggle inside the house. A chair had been tipped over, some other items in the house had been tipped over.”

Ray remembers that difficult time very well saying, “At first there was hope, you know. She’s just staying with someone. She was Schizophrenic and she would get fearful or have a delusion and she would go and stay in a hotel for a night and the come home and sort of reset herself.”

But she didn’t come home, and a couple days later, police found her car behind the Bremerton Airport. It was stuck in the mud with the keys in the ignition near what is now Bremerton Raceway.

Detective Rhoades says, “A search and rescue mission was launched. Kitsap County brought in searchers and checked the area, but nothing was ever located.”

Six years went by without a trace of Deborah and then police decided to look into the case again. “In 2004, detectives from our agency put some more work into it. They had gotten some more tips from people coming forward, saying specifically that this was a homicide and Ms. Simmons was murdered, and there were rumors that her body was dumped in a remote area,” Rhoades adds.

But nothing has turned up so far. Detectives Rhoades believes he is investigating a homicide and wants anyone with information to come forward. “Any new information or even old information, if somebody thinks we know something that we may have heard before, if they would come forward again and provide us with something, that would be great,” Rhoades says.

And Ginny has a message for her killer, “I just feel like someone thought she wasn’t valuable, you know she’s just a mentally ill lady. People in town did know her as the girl that would talk to herself. But she was valuable and it hurts that she’s gone.”

If you know anything about the death or disappearance of Deborah Simmons, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.

Your information could lead to up to a $1,000 cash reward and you are guaranteed to remain anonymous.

New clue in case of missing Mukilteo teen who disappeared 3 weeks ago

EDMONDS, Wash. -- The family of a missing Mukilteo teen says they have a new lead in his disappearance.

Sixteen-year-old Tyler Christensen vanished on April 19 while walking to a youth group meeting at church.

After an investigation, the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office said on April 26 that their probe pointed toward him "making plans to leave the area and that he left his home on his own volition." But investigators said they'd still like to find him to ensure he's safe.

"We received a tip on Sunday that someone had picked him up between Kingston and Poulsbo," Liz Christensen, Tyler's sister, said Tuesday.

She said her brother was seen hitchhiking on the same night he disappeared. They believe he took a ferry to Kingston. The man who gave him a ride said Tyler seemed upbeat and was asking for directions to Shelton and planning to go hiking in the Olympics.

Why did Tyler go missing?

"I'd like to ask him that. I honestly don't know," said Liz.

She said there were no problems at home and they have no idea why he left.  She thinks he may just be on an adventure and looking for something, but has no idea what that is.

She's asking people to go to http://www.helpfindtyler.com to print out a flier and to share it.

"We would rather follow up on several leads that don't lead to Tyler than miss out on that one clue that could help us find him," said Liz.

She is hoping people will go to grocery stores, restaurants, ranger stations and gas stations and post the fliers, especially in Shelton and the Olympic Peninsula. She is also encouraging people to help search for them but reminding them to go in teams, search during daylight hours and to dress appropriately for the weather.

"The last thing we would want is for someone else to go missing while searching for Tyler," said Liz.

She's praying her brother is alright and hoping he knows how much his family loves him.

"We want Tyler to come home. Whatever's going on. It doesn't matter why he left. We're not mad, we're not upset. We just want to know that he's OK," said Liz.

Tyler is 5-foot-11, 145 pounds with blue eyes and light brown hair in a buzz cut. If you see him, call 911.

SNOHOMISH COUNTY — May is Missing and Unidentified Persons Month.

Right now, there are more than 540 families in our state who are dealing with a loved one who has disappeared — some like ‘Jane Doe’ in Snohomish County are found but remain unidentified.

She was brutally murdered in August of 1977, strangled and then shot seven times in the face by convicted killer David Roth. Police used her remains to create a sketch of what she may have looked like.

She was wearing blue tennis shoes, a tank top and a gold-colored Timex watch with a brown leather band.

"She was probably 15-21 years old, but most likely 16-19,” says Snohomish County Det. Jim Scharf. "It would mean a lot to me to find the family that she belongs to and be able to tell them exactly what happened to her.”

Next Thursday, May 19th, Det. Scharf and Victim Support Services will have a booth set up a The Snohomish County Superior Court Plaza on Rockefeller Ave. in Everett from 11am to 2pm to draw attention to all of these cases and they invite you to stop by for more information.

STANWOOD, Wash. --  Snohomish County detectives have identified a man whose skeletal remains were found by hikers near 140th Street NE and Marine Drive near Kayak Point on January 20, 2016, as Roy T. Blair.

Snohomish County Major Crimes detectives, the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Washington State forensic anthropologist, Dr. Kathy Taylor, responded to the scene and recovered the remains.

“In doing so, we ended up finding clothing that had a wallet in it,” said Snohomish County Det. Jim Scharf.

On May 3, dental records confirmed his identity. Blair disappeared from Portland in 1988 when he was 28, and Scharf was able to locate Blair’s sister and daughter in Portland.

“They were overjoyed to finally have some answers as to what happened to their dad and their brother after being missing for 28 years."

Scharf says Blair had a minor warrant when he disappeared and had been in a little bit of trouble.

“He decided that he wanted to just take his sleeping bag and get on his motorcycle and get out of town for a while. They loaned him $20 and never saw him again,” said Scharf. There were no signs of injuries and his death is not considered suspicious.

loganTUMWATER, Wash. — A Thurston County teen is missing, and his family is desperate for answers. Investigators found the young man’s car with his wallet and cell phone inside on May 20, but no signs of 19-year old Logan Schiendelman.

“I do know that Thursday morning on the 19th, a family member saw him at the house and he hasn’t been seen since,” said Mike Ware, Schiendelman’s uncle, who is also a retired Thurston County sheriff’s lieutenant.

Ware says one day later, on May 20, Logan’s car turned up on Interstate 5, near mile marker 92. Witnesses said the driver pulled over onto the shoulder, ran into the woods, but the car was left in gear and drifted through three lanes of traffic. Ware said witnesses were shown a picture of Schiendelman, but they claim the descriptions don’t match.

Ware hasn’t stopped searching the area since he disappeared.

“I’ve actually covered considerable distance on both sides,” said Ware. "Some of the area is extremely brushy and very hard to get through; some of it’s open.”

Family and friends are also sharing posters and spreading the word through social media, just desperate to know he’s OK.

“So far there’s been nothing to indicate that he’s come to harm, but there’s also been nothing to indicate that he’s OK.”

The family also said Schiendelman has a severe peanut allergy and is without his epi pen. They said if anyone has any information, call 911 or the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.

Family of missing father desperate for answers; detectives also searching for Brandon Perecz — but not just because he disappeared

SULTAN — The family of a Sultan father of three is desperate for answers.

Brandon Perecz hasn’t been seen since May 24th. He even missed the birth of his baby boy.

What makes his case unique is that Snohomish County Sheriff’s detectives are also trying to find him — and not just because he’s missing.

Where the Sultan and Skykomish rivers meet, the water is cold and especially dangerous, but that’s where Brandon ‘Bubba’ Perecz was last seen. Deputies say he jumped in to escape arrest. “He just went into the water and pointed his feet downstream and was actively swimming, but moving with the current downstream and that`s the last that the deputy on scene saw him,” said Shari Ireton with The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. Brandon had a warrant for his arrest and had used the river avoid capture three times before.

His son was born the day after he disappeared.

His fiancé, Michaela Anderson, says Brandon planned to turn himself in after the birth. She’s still struggling for answers. “Brandon has a big heart, he does,” she said. “I miss him a lot. I search for him almost every day. It`s taken a toll on me. All I do is search. I feel like if I`m not putting time in with the baby I`m searching and trying to dig for answers.”

Michaela filed a missing persons report three days after he didn't come home. “The following day we sent out a Search and Rescue helicopter as well as dive teams to go up and down the river,” says Ireton. “They weren`t able to find anything."

Brandon's family wishes more was done sooner to look for him.

They've been sharing a missing persons poster on Facebook hoping someone has information. “I just really want Brandon to come home,” says Michaela. “If everyone can just keep their eyes open and their ears open and just know that just because he was a criminal doesn`t make him any less of a person than anybody else.”

Major Crimes detectives are working the case and helicopter crews have continued to search the river. Ireton says, "The way it works with missing persons investigation or any kind of search is the last known location and work out from there, so if we can figure out where he was after he left the river that would be extremely helpful.”

Brandon has a lot of family who love and miss him, including his two other kids.

Rumors have run rampant around Sultan about what happened to him, but right now, there are just no solid leads. Michaela says, “I hope that he pops up and that he`s okay and that he comes home, or is found.”

Angela Meeker missing: Reward now $20,000 to help solve mystery of Tacoma teen who vanished on way to mall

TACOMA — The FBI is hoping a new $20,000 reward will encourage someone to come forward with information to solve a mystery in Tacoma.

Angela Meeker would be 51 years old now. She was just two days shy of her 14th birthday when she went missing in 1979.

Tacoma Police Det. Lindsey Wade says Meeker was walking to the Tacoma Mall to buy a birthday card for a friend when she disappeared on July 7th. “We believe that there are people out there who have information on what happened to Angie. There’s quite a few people we know that she associated with and so at this point they are just going and trying to contact as many of those people as possible.”

The last confirmed sighting came from an acquaintance who said he gave her a ride and dropped her off by the Payless store.

"We really rely on people coming forward who may have even spoken to investigators originally," said FBI Special Agent Terry Postma

The FBI’s South Sound Cold Case Working Group in Pierce County is helping to put the pieces together of what happened 37 years ago. “I think anytime that you bring in additional investigators and have a fresh look at a case file, that's always helpful," said FBI Supervisory Special Agent Kelly Smith

So far, everyone they've talked to remembers Angie because of her spunky personality. "

“She had a little bit of history of maybe running away for a couple of days or being away from home for a couple of days at a time but she would always come back," added Special Agent Postma.

Investigators think the $20,000 reward may help solve the mystery or lead them to her recovery. "We're just hoping that that may motivate somebody who was otherwise reluctant to come forward to actually call us," adds Det. Wade.

ORIGINAL WMW CASE December 11, 2015 --
It was almost four decades ago that a teenage girl went missing in Tacoma after heading to the mall.

Detectives continue to search for answers in her disappearance and they're hoping you can help find her.

“The fact that she was 13 and literally just disappeared off the face of the earth is unusual,” says Tacoma Police  Det. Lindsey Wade. She's talking about Angela Meeker, who vanished two days before her 14th birthday on July 7, 1979.

Angela would be 50 years old now.

She was 5'1" and 100 pounds at the time of her disappearance with hazel eyes and blonde hair.
